Heartwood can be bright watermelon red, with a fairly irregular grain and fine texture. Redheart's vibrant color fades over time to a reddish brown and will speed up when exposed to sunlight.
Machines and finishes well.

- Pen blanks are cut from premium kiln dried lumber.
- Sapwood is not considered a defect and may be found in some blanks.
- Due to the nature of wood, no two pieces are alike, and movement, shrinkage or expansion can occur.
