Common Names:

Determa (Guyana), Wana (Surinam), Grignon rouge (French Guiana), Louro vermelho (Brazil)

Description:

Heartwood is light reddish brown with a golden sheen; well-defined sapwood is narrow, dull gray, or pale yellowish brown. Texture is rather coarse; grain is interlocked to straight; quartersawn lumber is sometimes attractively figured.

• Sapwood is not considered a defect and may be found in some boards.
• Due to the nature of wood, no two pieces are alike, and movement, shrinkage, or expansion can occur.
